TrueTrac Dado Jig / Router Jig

Sale price Price $ 79.99 Regular price $ 99.99 Unit price  per

Utilize this track saw adapter plate with your handheld router to cut custom sized dados and rabbits, or lock the pivot plate do straight line routing.

Dado width capacity is 1/4 inch to 1 inch. This accessory utilizes the exact same track as all of our other products and features a spreading mechanism to remove any play perpendicular to the track itself.

This router jig allows you to measure the wood that you wish to make a dado for, accounting for any and all thickness variations due to unique planing or variations found in all plywood lumber thicknesses. Use either a 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch diameter straight or spiral bit with this system.

The small plates with 1/4 and 3/8 engraved on them correspond to the bit diameter in use. Currently, only 1/4 and 3/8 are available. These small plates are what limit the swing of the pivoting plate after measuring your workpiece and accurately control the width of the dado.

Your router mounts to the plate via a 1 inch Porter-Cable style guide bushing, included with the kit. Your router base plate needs to have the recess available for attaching the guide bushing. Optionally, you may also mount your router directly to the pivot plate in lieu of the base plate already on your router.

A clamping mechanism of some sort is required to hold the track in place while using the dado/router jig, either our E-series clamps, Trac clamps, or a standard bar clamp will work well.

Exactly what I expected, excellent customer service!

I have a bunch of sheet goods I needed to cut dados in. I took the necessary time to get router centered on the base plate and attached it direct. I bought a 3/8” downcut spiral bit to cut my 3/4” dados. It works flawlessly as advertised with the adjustability to fine tune the width of the joint. I also used a piece of 1/4” plywood as a spacer that I can line up on the mark and butt against the track to get dead on positioning of track to joint, repeatable every time. Will make a spacer for every bit I will use. Would buy it again in a heartbeat! I feel all their products are value priced and the quality and accuracy is heads and tails above the competition! A well thought out product with features no others have! Lastly, Jacob has always followed up with all my purchases to make sure I’m satisfied with the product! Who else does that!!! Keep up the R&D, look forward to what they come up with next!

Just what I needed

Ripping down plywood on sawhorses or a table saw has always been awkward even with another person assisting. The expandable table was easy to set up and feels solid when cutting large or small pieces of wood. No more need for assistance. Breaks down easily and stores completely out of the way.

Finally able to use

I purchased my TruTrac system a few months ago and was finally able to use it. I bought a dedicated saw for it and set everything up when I got the system. I finally used it today and I am very pleased. I had to cut some plywood down and what a difference. After squaring an end, I was able to make the cuts I needed in less than half the time it would have taken. Precision is built in and no more variation due to the user. If I can use it, it must be idiot proof. Thanks for a great system. I’ll be calling when I wear this one out.

Dust Collector

Does it make a difference on how far the saw blade is forward into the zero clearance dust chute? I centered the sole plate of my Makita saw on your track guide so the sole is just over a inch back from the front of the guide. My saw curf is about 1 inch long on the top of the dust chute.

Russell,

Honestly, kind of - If the saw blade isn’t cutting into the nozzle it won’t be as effective, as the concept is trying to keep the dust creation point inside the actual vacuum nozzle itself so all of the fine dust is extracted.

That being said as long as the blade has cut into the nozzle it should function just fine!

TrueTrac Pro-Series 4' Starter Kit

Love my router sled!

My sled kit with the threaded rod insert has been amazing. I love how few moving parts there are, and how sturdy the rails are!
